Prophesee launches HD Event-Based Vision evaluation kit, enabling for access to breakthrough engineering revision of Gen 4.1 sensor

May 12, 2021NewsIbionext

Comprehensive evaluation kit enables full performance evaluation of Gen 4.1 HD Event-Based vision sensor co-developed with Sony Semiconductor Solutions, featuring the industry’s smallest pixels and superior HDR performance.

PARIS, May 12, 2021 – Prophesee today announced the availability of a comprehensive evaluation kit (EVK) to provide machine vision system developers with full performance evaluation of the breakthrough engineering revision of the Event-Based Vision sensor which was co-developed with Sony Semiconductor Solutions Corporation and announced at ISSCC in February 2020.“This is a critical milestone in our joint development with Sony Semiconductor Solutions as we commercialize this Evaluation Kit featuring the event-based vision sensor technology achieved through our collaboration,” said Luca Verre, Prophesee founder and CEO. “This new EVK will enable system developers in areas such as industrial automation, IoT and manufacturing to get a complete and accurate understanding of how to leverage the performance advantages offered by this innovative architecture, and be ready to deploy machine vision solutions.”

The kit gives developers early access to the state-of-the-art Event-Based Vision sensor co-developed with Sony, which features an industry leading 4.86μm pixel pitch and 1280 x720 pixel resolution. This kit is ideal for full performance evaluation, supporting full sensor bandwidth of up to 3Gbps via a USB 3 interface. The EVK enables comprehensive sensor control including digital pipeline (event signal processor – ESP) and features a C/CS with S-mount adapter.

The EVK is fully compatible with the recently announced Metavision Intelligence Suite version 2.2 to perform a variety of design exploration steps and incorporate customized software application to meet specific market requirements.

Availability

The EVK is available from Prophesee immediately.
