Hospitals and health systems across the U.S. have developed telehealth strategies to connect with patients in remote locations. This has become especially important during the pandemic.
Frost & Sullivan anticipates that telehealth will be up 64.3 percent in 2020, even as CMS is encouraging healthcare providers to resume in-person services. Virtual visits and remote patient monitoring tech will be the biggest drivers of telehealth market growth, followed by mobile health and personal emergency response systems.
Beyond connecting with patients, hospitals and health systems use telemedicine applications between clinicians to connect with specialists when working on complex cases or needing additional expertise and support.
